Still one of my favorites

This was done for the nicest local lady as a gift for her husband. I consider it a privilege to be able to work with things so significant and truly appreciate the trust. These were her father-in-laws medals from WW2-earned during a very trying time no doubt. I got curious about some stuff and did some reading. He belonged to the most decorated unit in the European theatre during WW2 with quite a collection of CMH recipients, They were in North Africa, then Italy, France and into Germany at the end. They seemed to have a gift for finding trouble as young men in green do. I never met the man and know next nothing about him. I would have loved to sit down and hear the stories he could tell about this period in his life though I sure couldn't blame him for not wanting to talk about it. These men had a certain clarity about them in my opinion. A trait likely developed from experience and enduring. Suffering may be a good word too. He's gone now as nearly all of them are. So...thank you sir. What else can ya say!?
